Two things all grad students need to be able to do: write and code

It’s very simple; grad students have to run experiments, analyze data, and write papers up for publication. If a grad student cannot write or code then that student will be at a disadvantage.

Writing is partially covered by the undergrad psychology degree, but coding isn’t covered at all. A good student has to learn a lot on their own, especially how to write and how to code.
